Over the past few weeks, the coronavirus has caused weddings and honeymoons to be cancelled all over the world. If you are a couple who has found themselves in this situation, I am so, so sorry. I want to be a resource and provide tools to help you think of creative ways to plan for a honeymoon amidst the coronavirus outbreak. Whether you can’t leave your house or are choosing to not travel at this time, I want to help you think through some new honeymoon ideas to celebrate your love. In this blog, you’ll find tips for postponing your honeymoon, planning a domestic honeymoon and even how to transform your own home into a honeymoon destination. So, keep reading!

Due to the effects of coronavirus, Between the Pine recommends all to adhere to CDC regulations and guidelines put in place by local and national governments. Between the Pine strongly encourages everyone to make decisions about events and travel that are in the interest of their personal and the public’s health and wellbeing.

Choose to postpone your honeymoon and travel when it’s safe due to coronavirus

If your heart is set on your original honeymoon plan, you can choose to postpone your plan and go on your honeymoon when the travel restrictions have been lifted. Most airlines are waving cancellation and changing fews, and I’ve linked to popular airlines’ coronavirus policies below. Likely, you’ve paid deposits that could be lost if you choose to cancel your honeymoon. So, be sure to read through any contracts you signed before making the decision to cancel versus postpone your honeymoon.

Do you need a local honeymoon idea because of coronavirus? Try creating your own honeymoon at home

If you are deciding to postpone your honeymoon or the coronavirus caused your honeymoon to be cancelled all together, I’m sharing an alternative idea for a honeymoon during coronavirus. Welcome to Between the Pine’s version of a honeymoon at home, or a “homeymoon” you might say (lol).

There are some real benefits to planning a hometown honeymoon right now. Social distancing is actually in your favor if you’re planning to stay at home for a honeymoon. The two of you can easily disconnect, hunker in and enjoy some quality time together in your hometown. Below, I’m sharing some tips and tricks for creating a honeymoon experience right at home.

Transform your home into a honeymoon destination

Have fun together making your home into a honeymoon destination. You can put up a sign that says, “Welcome to your homeymoon,” or even set up your own snacks and mini bar. Put a couple of pieces of chocolate on your pillows, and take some time to learn how to fold a towel like a swan. The point is, choose to laugh and have fun creating a honeymoon destination at home.

Put away the distractions (especially coronavirus headlines) and enjoy the quality time together

Gather up the work laptop, cell phones, calendars and whatever else would distract you from enjoying time together and put them away! You could even try going electricity-free for a day or two. Imagine no alarm clock, television, email inbox, social media scrolling or news headlines. Talk about a honeymoon escape! So, unplug the television, hide the electronics back in the closet and pull out every candlestick you own. Sounds like a cozy night at home, right?

Support local restaurants for a honeymoon dining experience

Compile a list of local restaurants that are offering delivery or are partnering with a third party delivery company during the coronavirus outbreak. This is not only a great way to support local businesses during coronavirus limitations on restaurants, but a way you and your love can enjoy some of your favorite local food spots. Keep in mind, the wait time for food delivery will likely be higher due to coronavirus. To read how some popular food delivery services are responding to coronavirus, click the links below:

Create an itinerary for your hometown honeymoon

Think ahead and plan some fun ideas of things you could do together while honeymooning at home. The goal during your “homeymoon” is to be relaxed, not bored. So, even if you don’t get to all of the activities you think of, make a fun itinerary of activities. Here are some hometown honeymoon ideas:

  • Play board games (with incentives #iykyk)

  • Intentional games to grow closer together: 20 Questions or Our Moments

  • Watch a cooking tutorial and cook along with it

  • Give each other couples massages

  • Buy a disposable camera to document your staycation honeymoon

  • Watch the sunrise with coffee or sunset with wine

  • Go stargazing together

  • Learn a new dance in your living room

  • Try making a new cocktail or mocktail

  • Spend time outside

  • Do a jigsaw puzzle: you could even order a custom puzzle with a photo of the two of you

  • Build a fort and watch a movie (popcorn is a must)

Are you postponing your wedding?

I’ve created a complete guide to help you in the process of postponing your wedding.

Coronavirus cancelled honeymoon and you are ready for a brand new honeymoon idea

If your honeymoon was cancelled, here are some fun ways you can still experience a getaway:

  • Rent a local Airbnb to still feel like you’re getting away for your honeymoon

Airbnbs are great locations for anyone planning a small, intimate wedding, an elopement or even a honeymoon. I created a blog post that covers all the things you need to know and understand about booking an Airbnb, and it includes a list of the best Airbnbs in the country. Click here to explore the best Airbnbs! Once you book your Airbnb, you can utilize the at-home honeymoon tips I mentioned above to make your stay an amazing honeymoon experience.

  • Go camping

As of right now, the National Park Service has waived their entrance fees. So, now is a great time to explore our country’s national parks. Pack up your s’mores kits and fire wood and plan a camping honeymoon.

  • Stay at a hotel near you

A staycation honeymoon experience can be elevated just by checking into a hotel. I highly recommend the hotel brands Ace Hotel and Graduate Hotels.

  • Choose to road trip over air travel

Did someone say road trip? This would be such a sweet way to spend quality time together, make intentional pit stops along the way and, of course, listen to a great playlist or two.

Counselling or something similar should be available before people get in to a relationship so that they are prepared for what they are getting into to explain the implication of a relationship, how to deal with different scenarios, how to recognize abusive behavior and understand the consequences of abusive behavior, my ex was so toxic and cheating, he denied having affair behind my back. Thanks to ”hackingloop6@gmail. c om” for hacking his phone and gaining me remote access to his phone activities and exposing all he did with other girls behind my back, it all ended and my sanity was restored. hackingloop6@gmail. com’ is also reachable on +1 (612) 502 – 3647, he’s a legit and reliable hacker.
