Think You should elope in Washington?

We can’t help but agree.

(yes, we're biased.)

P.S. We’d be honored to be your Washington Elopement Photographer

Your guide to eloping in Washington State:

Check off as you go!

Whatever backdrop you’re envisioning for your elopement, Washington likely has it.

  • Meadows full of wildflowers
  • Old-growth forests that look like something out of a fairy tale
  • Shimmering alpine lakes
  • Granite peaks crowned with snowcaps
  • Dramatic, craggy beaches.

(And if you saw the locations in these images and thought “but I want more than one of those”? We have good news: you can explore more than one, often in a single day—or you can do a two-day elopement.)

Better yet, nearly everything lies within an hour or two of Seattle—and many of our public lands are ADA-accessible, so that anyone can take in the views.

There’s something for literally everyone in Washington.

Why get married here?

You Can Count On Us:

Our team has photographed over 300 weddings in Washington, which means we know a thing or two. Like which national parks are the most accessible if hiking isn’t in the cards, how to transform a rainy day into stunning elopement photos, or even where to grab the best cinnamon rolls in town the morning after your elopement.

As your Washington elopement photographer, we’re there to support you through the planning process—and then bring the positive energy (and the snacks) on your wedding day itself.

Between the Pine was founded in Washington, and it’s our home base to this day. In fact, several of our photographers live here.

We don’t just photograph here, we live here.

Year-round

season:

Less than an hour outside Seattle lies the Snoqualmie Valley, dotted with cozy mountain towns, breathtaking waterfalls, and easy-to-access trails. (Mollie loves this area so much that she’s made it her home). Despite its proximity to a city, it’s secluded and romantic - perfect for a moody forest elopement.

about the valley:

Snoqualmie

Year-round—think sunshine on the coast in the spring, snowshoeing in the winter

season:

We adore Olympic National Park because it features three distinct ecosystems in one: snowy peaks, rocky coastlines, and lush temperate forests. Imagine starting the day watching the sun rise over the Pacific, then exchanging views with Hurricane Ridge in the background. And we didn’t even mention the hot springs, perfect for a post-elopement soak.

about the park:

Olympic National Park

Year-round, with wildflowers in summer

season:

Mother Nature was extra-generous when it came to Mt. Rainier National Park, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s accessible year-round, whether you crave the look of wildflower meadows or a winter wonderland. And of course, at the heart of it all is Mt. Rainier itself, standing tall. (No, we never get tired of taking photos of Mt. Rainier. Have you seen her?)

about the park:

Mt. Rainier National Park

Mid-June to early October, when the trails are snow-free

season:

Just two hours outside Seattle lies the rugged North Cascades National Park, home to a mountain range nicknamed the North American Alps. Picture alpine lakes the color of gemstones, densely forested valleys, and glaciers aplenty. North Cascades also happens to be one of the least-visited national parks, which makes it an elopement photographer’s dream: epic, easy-to-access scenery with no crowds in sight.

WHERE SHOULD YOU elope in WASHINGTON?

meet your washington photographers

The unhurried pace of an elopement allows you to truly soak in the moments that matter most to you, whether that’s popping champagne atop a mountain or taking a minute to cuddle your pup.

What she loves about elopements:

After developing a taste for hiking in the Ozarks, Mollie followed her love of adventure to Washington, where she founded Between the Pine in 2018. She’s an avid gardener, and her chocolate-chip cookies are the stuff of legend.

We actually get to utilize the most gorgeous parts of the day: golden hour, blue hour, and starlight. You can’t do that at a wedding with a big reception in the evening

What she loves about elopements:

Our resident Olympic National Park expert, Amy relocated to the area so she could indulge in her two favorite pastimes: snowboarding and surfing. She’s photographed over 150 weddings and elopements in Washington. In college, she was a baton twirler at the University of Washington (and yes, she can twirl fire).

It’s so diverse in its landscape! Not many people think of the high desert or mesas when they think of Washington, but it has all that and the alpine landscapes that usually come to mind.

What she loves about washington:

Born and raised in Washington, Kass started out as a guide for backpacking, climbing & hiking trips, then gradually made her way to photography. She currently lives in the North Cascades but has been known to head out for months-long van trips.

Have you been here? Where else can you find oceans, alpine lakes, endless mountains, desert and rainforest?

What she loves about washington:

A self-described “PNW stan,” Devin’s been photographing elopements for over 5 years, and she loves bringing a cinematic feel to her work. She can definitely beat you in a game of UNO, and if you need someone to teach all your guests the moves to a song, she’s your girl.

There truly is a location option for every couple and their unique vision. You can experience a little bit of everything with some hiking boots, a backpack and car!

What she loves about washington:

An elopement photographer for over 10 years as well as an avid hiker and rock climber, Megan landed in Washington in 2016. She connects deeply with nature and relishes the chance to help her couples do the same. When she’s not on the trails, she likely has a nice hot cup of tea by her side.

Why Elope with Between the Pine

Between the Pine founder, elopement photographer, and proud Washington resident.

Between the Pine started in 2018, with just me and my camera. Since then, we’ve grown to a team of talented photographers, each with over 5 years of experience photographing elopements in their own right. Not only are we seasoned hikers, but we’re all trained in Wilderness First Aid as well as Leave No Trace principles.

We like to think of ourselves as local experts—we’ve spent countless hours scouting the best trails, elopement-friendly Airbnbs, and lookout sites in Washington, building a network of trustworthy vendors, and preparing for the challenges Mother Nature sometimes throws at us. (We can even give you advice on what to see and do if you’re sticking around Washington for your honeymoon!)

When you book your Washington adventure elopement with us, we’re with you through the whole planning process, not just the elopement day. We get to know you, then create a detailed itinerary for your day, centered on you and the vibe you both want—whether that’s saying your vows after a grueling climb or in the backyard of a quaint cabin.

And on top of all the planning, cheerleading, and guiding we do, we deliver epic photographs of your day (of course). All our photographers are trained in what we think of as the Between the Pine “house style,” and all edits are handled by the same person.

Hey, I'm Mollie,

It all comes down to this:

Your elopement should be the best day ever (you’ll hear us say that a lot), and we’re here to make that happen.
