PNW inspired Texas Wedding at Old Bethany Weddings and Events
Seattle Style Rooted in Southern Tradition
Caitlynn and Luke packed their suitcases full of Seattle feels and headed south to the bride’s hometown of Waco, Texas. They brought all the deep, rich colors of the Pacific Northwest to the Lone Star State, and there wasn’t a detail lacking in intentional planning and design.
The bride works on the team of Seattle wedding designer Kaleb Norman James, and together they pulled inspiration from the Pacific Northwest when dreaming up Caitlynn and Luke’s mid-December wedding day. With deep maroons and burnt oranges anchoring the bouquets, the bride wore a stunning gown that looked as though it was designed perfectly just for her. The groom rocked a burgundy suit and a tie with a subtle pattern.
While the day was full of beautiful PNW flare, their wedding day was deeply rooted in the heart Texas. Caitlynn’s aunt made the tiered crumb-coated wedding cake, and two of the bride’s dearest friends did her flawless up-do and deep-lip-colored look. One of the sweetest wedding traditions this couple chose to cherish happened at the beginning of their ceremony. The couple was intentional to not see each other all day, and Luke’s reaction to his bride walking towards him down the isle had everyone by the heart strings.
Their reception kicked off with margaritas and a Texas-size meal from Chuy’s (anyone else love their jalapeno ranch?). The tables were lit by candlelight and were draped with stunning florals in the deep winter tones. The dance party kicked off, the LED light sticks began flashing, and eventually the bride and groom were lifted in the air (my biggest regret as a bride was not crowd surfing!!). It was all said and done with an epic and moody sparkler send off.

After Caitlyn slipped into her stunning dress designed by Alexandra Grecco, she pulled out a letter Luke had written her. Tears began to fall as the words Luke had written his bride were read and then it Caitlynn fashion, she just started to cheer and saying, “I can’t wait to marry him!!”. I’m telling you, these two are the dream team!
Creating Unique Moments
Something I love that Caitlyn did on her wedding day was intentionally set aside time for a first look with her family. The barn doors were opened and Caitlynn’s family stood in awe. Of course clapping and hugs were soon to follow!
Okay I will admit it- I LOVE hanging with the bros on the wedding day. As they got ready, The Office was on, Sonic was there as a snack, and eventually The Greatest Showman was blasting which turned into a dance party. Also, Luke surprised his Best Man with the ultimate patch to wear on the wedding day.
A Pacific Northwest inspired reception
Oh my goodness where to even begin. Well first off, let’s all just take a moment to appreciate Kaleb and how he truly made Caitlynn and Luke’s vision come to life. The colors, the florals, the table runners, I meannnn the list could go on.
Guests were seated and shortly after, dinner of tacos and margs was served. The party continued late into the night and ended with the most joyful sparkler send off.
