Meet the couple from this Pacific Northwest inspired wedding

Do you remember the story of how Between the Pine began as a food blog? Click here if you want to read more about how Between the Pine began! I met the bride, Caitlynn, when I was just beginning to take photos of my food and put them on the blog, and we became instant friends. When I started to transition between food photography and capturing adventurous couples in the mountains of Washington, Caitlynn was one of the first friends to cheer me on. So, when she got engaged, she told me that I was the only photographer she could imagine capturing her Pacific Northwest inspired wedding (what an honor!). So, Caitlynn and Luke packed their suitcases full of Seattle feels and headed south to the bride’s hometown of Waco, Texas. They brought all the deep, rich colors of the Pacific Northwest to the Lone Star State, and there wasn’t a detail lacking in intentional planning and design. Keep scrolling to find out how you could add some moody inspiration to your wedding day.

How to add Pacific Northwest inspired details to your wedding

The bride works on the team of Seattle wedding designer Kaleb Norman James, and together they pulled inspiration from the Pacific Northwest when dreaming up Caitlynn and Luke’s mid-December wedding day. One of the ways Kaleb’s team knocked the PNW wedding inspiration out of the park was with the florals. With deep maroons and burnt oranges anchoring the bouquets, the florals looked like something you’d see in the Pacific Northwest. You basically can’t go wrong with anything that is a dark, deep tone when you’re aiming for a Pacific Northwest inspired look to your wedding day.

Caitlyn wore a stunning wedding dress from Dress Theory Seattle that looked as though it was designed perfectly just for her. The material of this wedding dress was so perfect for her Seattle fall inspired wedding theme. Dress designer Alexandra Grecco describes Caitlynn’s dress as, “The Nico Gown is a modern silhouette that is sure to turn heads. The high neckline and gathered waist feel effortless, while the sleek, fitted skirt adds the perfect amount of sophistication. The delicate, parallel straps down the center back complete this look beautifully. This 100% silk crepe gown has quickly become one of our favorites, and we’re certain your guests will be talking about Nico for years to come.” The silk crepe material was a light-weight option that still looked like a thicker, fall wedding dress material. Another great way to incorporate Pacific Northwest details into your wedding is to choose the groom’s attire to be a unique, deep tone. Luke rocked a burgundy suit and a tie with a subtle pattern and was the perfect compliment to Caitlynn’s white wedding dress.

Old Bethany wedding venue: the perfect setting for any wedding day

This was the first wedding to photograph at Old Bethany Weddings & Events, and it quickly became one of my favorite wedding venues! With its clean, white lines, it’s modern appearance is the perfect blank canvas for any wedding decor. For the Pacific Northwest wedding inspiration at Caitlynn and Luke’s wedding, the white atmosphere made the deep, rich colors really stand out. The ceremony spot where Caitlynn and Luke shared their vows is right in front of where the sun sets, making the lighting so dreamy. The Old Bethany wedding venue is spacious enough for a big wedding, but wouldn’t’ feel too large for a smaller wedding. And, there are designated spaces for both the bride and the groom to get ready.

Stay true to your roots: how this couple incorporated their hometowns into their wedding inspiration

While the day was full of beautiful PNW flare, their wedding day was deeply rooted in the heart of Texas. Caitlynn’s aunt made the tiered crumb-coated wedding cake, and two of the bride’s dearest friends did her flawless up-do and deep-lip-colored look. One of the sweetest wedding traditions this couple chose to cherish happened at the beginning of their ceremony. The couple was intentional to not see each other all day, and Luke’s reaction to his bride walking towards him down the aisle had everyone by the heart strings. Their reception kicked off with margaritas and a Texas-size meal from Chuy’s (anyone else love their jalapeno ranch?). The tables were lit by candlelight and draped with stunning florals in the deep winter tones. The dance party kicked off, the LED light sticks began flashing, and eventually the bride and groom were lifted in the air (my biggest regret as a bride was not crowd surfing!!). It was all said and done with an epic and moody sparkler send off.
