Incredible Two-Day Adventure Wedding in Washington State

Written by our rad team member, Kiersten Roy

If you’ve been following along with us for a while then you know one of our absolute favorite places for an adventure wedding in Washington state is Snoqualmie Valley/Snoqualmie Pass! I could go on and on about how incredible this area is and I (Mollie) am so lucky to have such a beautiful place located right in my back yard! Not only is the Snoqualmie area so close to Seattle, but it also has so many incredible backdrops perfect for adventure weddings and elopements! Today I am sharing a glimpse into Katie and Mick’s beautiful day and I’ll also be sharing a few reasons why you should consider Snoqualmie as the location for your Washington state adventure wedding! So keep reading, because this is a blog you definitely won’t want to miss!

Meet Katie & Mick: The Couple of This Incredible Adventure Wedding in Washington State

This adventure wedding in Snoqualmie was not the first time I got to meet Katie and Mick. In fact, I actually got to photograph the couple’s proposal in 2020. The two got engaged on the Middle Fork right in Snoqualmie Valley, so it was only fitting for them to come back to this area for their best day(s) ever!

Katie and Mick opted to plan a Spring adventure wedding at multiple locations around Snoqualmie. Spring in Snoqualmie is absolutely magical (think the smell of fresh rain and the feeling of crisp mountain air all around you) so instead of planning on just one wedding day, they decided to make the most of their experience and plan a two-day adventure wedding! Day one consisted of the couple’s first look (which took place at our cabin, the Riverbend Retreat) followed by a big sunset hike with their friends. There, we took adventure photos on the top of the mountain overlooking a clear blue lake below and the valley all around.

Day two (which was the couple’s actual wedding day) kicked off with Katie and Mick getting ready at the cabin with the help of their friends. After everyone was dressed and ready to go, we took some wedding party photos by the river and downed tequila shots before heading off to a snowy sunset hike. When we reached the end of the trail, Katie and Mick exchanged heartfelt vows during their sunset ceremony before enjoying a first dance while one of their bridesmaids accompanied them with a song on the ukulele.

As the sun set, we all trekked back to the cabin where a b-e-a-u-tiful meal was waiting for them in the cabin’s sunroom (aka all-glass dream come true). There, along with all their best friends, Katie and Mick enjoyed a celebratory meal complete with vegan pizza, wings, and cake!

Seven Reasons to Have Your Adventure Wedding in Snoqualmie Valley

Our Cabin (The Riverbend Retreat)

I might be biased, but the Riverbend Retreat is one of the best places to host your adventure wedding in Snoqualmie! Not only can we host meals for up to 15 adults, but there are also lots of other incredible cabins within walking distance so all your guests can stay nearby!

Close Proximity to Seattle

Whether you want to completely escape out in nature, or be near the city so you can plan some other activities, Snoqualmie is the ideal location to do both! This area is located only 35 miles from downtown Seattle giving you all the perks of the PNW without having to drive too far from the city.

Diverse Landscapes

Not gonna lie, Snoqualmie is filled with so many diverse landscapes that we think it’s easily just as magical as some of the other epic and more well-known PNW locations. Here in Snoqualmie you’ll not only get incredible mountain views, but you’ll also have old-growth forests, winding rivers, cascading waterfalls, and clear blue alpine lakes (seriously, what’s not to love?).

Year-Round Access

No matter what time of year you want to plan an adventure wedding in Snoqualmie, you have options! Snoqualmie Valley stays relatively snow free year round (think sceneries like dreamy forests and crystal clear rivers) while Snoqualmie Pass (only 20 minutes away!), becomes a winter wonderland in the winter months and remains snow free and full of mountain trails during the summer + fall seasons.

Dog Friendly

Ok, so this might be our top favorite reason to have an adventure wedding in Snoqualmie! Here at Between the Pine we love when you bring your pup of honor to your special day and thankfully, almost all the locations in Snoqualmie are dog-friendly (wahoo!)!

Built-In Local Tour Guide

If you want someone who can show you the best that Snoqualmie has to offer Mollie is your girl! Being based in this area she knows all the hidden gems that this location holds. Plus, Snoqualmie is far less busy than most of the national parks, and it also has incredible views (a win-win).

Cozy Mountain Town Feel

There are actually several cozy mountain towns you and your guests can explore during your adventure wedding in Snoqualmie. Outside of Snoqualmie, you have downtown North Bend just a few minutes to the south. This area is bursting with so many fun things to see and do including a brewery, ski shop/coffee shop combo, winery, ice cream shop, juice shop, and tons of great local restaurants all with jaw dropping mountain views!

What You Need to Know About Your Washington State Adventure Wedding Packages

When choosing to have an adventure wedding in Washington state, we highly recommend three elopement packages to our couples – half-day, full-day or sunrise to sunset. If you are looking for a more budget friendly option, our half-day package would be a great choice and can take place at either sunrise or sunset with a stunning backdrop for your Washington state adventure wedding.

Our second option for your adventure wedding in Washington is our full-day package, which includes first look photos at your cabin in the early afternoon. We will then head out to two unique locations for you and your partner to explore. After, we will head to your ceremony location, where you will elope in the mountains with the most stunning backdrop at sunset! We recommend at least a full day or two-day adventure wedding package if you are planning to have guests present.

The last elopement package option is our sunrise to sunset package. This is one of our most popular elopement packages booked by our couples and here’s why: when booking a sunrise to sunset elopement, you are going to have golden hour and blue hour at BOTH sunrise and sunset! This means you are going to get the best light on your day (twice!!) and get to experience multiple locations. Click here to learn more about our packages for your adventure wedding in Washington.
