What do you get when you combine an intimate cabin wedding with a two-day adventure to some of Washington’s most epic viewpoints? The best day (excuse us, days) ever, that’s what! Trevor and Anya planned their intimate cabin wedding in Washington and invited a handful of friends and family to join them for the celebration. Keep scrolling to see more from their amazing day plus, learn our top 3 tips to consider planning a cabin wedding.

Meet Trevor & Anya: The Stars of This Intimate Cabin Wedding

We kicked off day one of Trevor and Anya’s intimate cabin wedding at – you guessed it – their cabin. The couple chose Stay Between the Pine (the best cabin wedding venue ever if you ask us) for their venue and got ready in separate parts of the cabin before heading outside to share a private first look. After spending a few quiet moments together, the rest of their loved ones joined them and everyone headed into the forest for an intimate wedding ceremony.

After they said ‘I Do’, we took a few family portraits and explored some of the nearby trails before heading back to the cabin. There, a delicious celebratory meal (special shoutout to Miere Catering) was waiting for them in the cabin’s atrium.

One of the things we love about two-day weddings and elopements is that it allows couples to have plenty of time to spend with their guests, while also taking time to be alone. We ended day one with a sunset hike near the cabin so Trevor and Anya could share a few private moments on their wedding day.

The next evening, we met up again for another sunset hike – this time down to Mount Rainier! As it was early summer, the wildflowers were just starting to bloom, bringing a bit of extra magic to the day. We found a gorgeous view of Mount Rainier from a fire lookout and witnessed a magical sunset! At the end of the night, Trevor gave me (Mollie) a hug and said, “You made our dreams come true.” which was just the kindest compliment ever!

Three Things to Consider When Planning an Intimate Cabin Wedding

Host Approval

First things first. If you are planning an intimate cabin wedding, you need to get the host’s approval before booking. This is especially important if you are going to have more people at the cabin than what the cabin allows (ie – the cabin sleeps four, but you plan to have ten people).

We always encourage our couples to phrase their request to the host making it clear that you just want to have a small family gathering, dinner, or outdoor ceremony. The main concerns for most hosts are noise, parking, and septic (aka bathroom situations), so stating your intentions upfront can help them understand exactly what you plan to do. Simply being aware and clearly communicating your plans to the host can go a long way in them approving your request.

Location and Proximity to Other Cabins and Trails

The next thing to consider when planning an intimate cabin wedding is the location. You’ll want to choose a cabin that is located near your ceremony or adventure location so you don’t spend too much time driving around on your wedding day.

Considering the proximity of your cabin to other cabins is also important if your guests plan to spend the night as well. One of the biggest perks of the adventure locations we take our couples to is that most of them have multiple cabins right next door (or within close vicinity) for your guests to stay at.

Indoor and Outdoor Space

The last important thing to consider when choosing an elopement cabin is what do the indoor and outdoor spaces look like. If it rains, is there a place for everyone to gather inside? Does the outdoor space have a spot for a ceremony or a place to set up tables for a celebratory meal? These are all important questions to ask when you’re looking through the photos and choosing a cabin. If you can’t tell from the photos, you can always reach out to the host directly and ask them for clarification.

What You Need to Know About Your Cabin Wedding Packages

When choosing to have an intimate cabin wedding, we highly recommend either our full-day or two-day elopement packages to our couples. Because most cabin weddings include guests, we’ve found that these packages are perfectly suited for whatever kind of experience you want to have.

Our full-day intimate cabin wedding package includes first-look photos at your cabin in the early afternoon. We will then head out to two unique locations for you and your partner to explore. After, we will head to your ceremony location, where you will elope in the mountains with the most stunning backdrop at sunset!

If you want to see all that Washington (or whatever beautiful area you choose) has to offer, then we recommend our two-day intimate cabin wedding package. This will allow you the chance to get to experience multiple locations and is also a great option if you plan on inviting guests.
