Planning a small wedding in Portland gives you the best of both worlds! You’ll get easy access to the city and experience some of Oregon’s most iconic waterfalls and mountain landscapes!

Timberline Lodge

Whether you are looking for an indoor or mountainside wedding, Timberline Lodge has got you covered! Located at the base of Mt. Hood, this Oregon small wedding venue gives you direct access to the mountain. If you want to go skiing or simply enjoy the nature around Oregon’s most famous mountain, this is the venue for you!

Located a mile above Timberline Lodge, is Silcox Hut. This Oregon micro wedding venue is part of Timberline Lodge and also happens to be the lodge’s most popular small wedding venue. This cozy cabin can host up to 40 people for your intimate wedding and can accommodate 24 guests overnight.

The Woodlands House

It’s no secret that we love Airbnb weddings here at Between the Pine and The Woodlands House takes the cake for one of the best micro wedding venues in Oregon! Surrounded by pine trees (we knew we loved this venue!) this 4-bedroom cabin is the perfect retreat for a woodsy wedding. The cabin is conveniently located, allowing easy access to Mt. Hood, the Columbia River Gorge, and downtown Portland.

Best Oregon Coast Micro Wedding Venues

We absolutely LOVE the Oregon Coast! Not only is this part of the western coastline STUNNING, but many of the locations in this area are even available year-round!

Crook Point

Crook Point might just be one of our favorite micro-wedding venues of all time! Located on private property along the southern Oregon Coast, this venue gives access to areas that you would otherwise not be able to explore. Plus, this venue is located just a short distance from the California redwoods, meaning you’ll get two epic sceneries in one!

River Cabaan

Located along the northern Oregon Coast sits a peaceful river cabin surrounded by nature. The River Cabaan is a secluded mid-century-style cabin that offers guests a peaceful getaway. One of the best parts about this Oregon micro wedding venue is that the property is experienced with hosting elopements and intimate weddings, so you can trust you’re in good hands when booking your small intimate wedding here.

Central Oregon is home to some of our favorite towns like Bend and Sisters, Oregon. This area of the PNW offers so many different landscapes from desert to forest to mountains and everything in between!

Loloma Lodge

This forest micro wedding venue offers the perfect retreat for a woodland wedding! Loloma Lodge can host up to 150 guests (though here at Between the Pine, we photograph intimate weddings with up to 30 guests) and they also offer accommodations in addition to their wedding packages. Unique Micro Wedding Venues in Oregon

Your micro wedding doesn’t have to take place at a traditional venue! Here are a few non-traditional and unique micro wedding venues in Oregon!

Oregon State Parks

With over 300 state parks to choose from, you won’t be short on options for outdoor micro wedding venues in Oregon! State and national parks are great places to hold your ceremony, especially if you want to include some adventure into your day. Just keep in mind that these areas may require a permit for your wedding ceremony or adventure session.

Day Use Areas and Group Campsites

Day-use areas are a great and relatively low-cost (or free) place to hold your intimate wedding ceremony. Whether you are planning a camping wedding or just want to find a convenient location to hold your ceremony before heading out on the rest of your adventure, day-use areas are a great option! Visit recreation.gov and Hipcamp to find areas for your outdoor wedding ceremony.

What to Look For When Choosing a Micro Wedding Venue in Oregon

Over the years we’ve learned a few tips and tricks for holding your ceremony at a micro wedding venue. Here are a few questions you may want to ask your host before booking.

How Many Bathrooms Are Onsite?

This is one detail that you don’t want to overlook! When choosing a micro wedding venue, ensure there are enough restrooms available for your guests.

What Is the Proximity to Trails?

If your intimate wedding day consists of some hiking or adventuring, consider how far away the venue is from your desired locations. In order to make the most of your wedding day, you may want to choose locations that are within close proximity to each other to help reduce the amount of driving time that is needed.

How Many Guests Does it Sleep and What is the Proximity to Other Lodging?

There are lots of ways to plan a micro wedding with guests, especially if you or your guests are traveling from out of town. Some couples choose to book an accommodation that can house all their guests while others prefer to book separate accommodations. No matter which option you choose, consider how many people each place can sleep and whether or not there are other nearby options for your guests to choose from.

What Does the Surrounding Landscape Look Like?

A micro wedding venue set in a beautiful location can help add to the magic of your wedding day. Consider the surrounding area of your wedding venue. What type of backdrop do you want for your wedding and are there nearby locations that can provide the kind of setting you are looking for?
